The Late Evangelist Ezekiel Guti Junior, son of the founder of Zimbabwe Assemblies of God Africa (ZAOGA Forward in Faith) church, Archbishop Ezekiel Guti, will be buried at Glen Forest Memorial Park on January 14. Ezekiel Jnr died on December 27 in South Africa where he was battling for his life in the intensive care unit after he nearly drowned in a swimming pool on Christmas Day.
ZAOGA FIF’s acting secretary-general Reverend Misheck Nyambo said his body was flown into the country on December 30, and his family has requested to mourn his death alone. In the meantime, there will be no gathering.
“The body of the late Evangelist Dr Ezekiel Guti Junior was flown to Zimbabwe from South Africa on Saturday December 30, 2017. His family has requested for a private time to mourn and no gathering of any kind will take place during that time. Two all-night vigils have been arranged for Friday, January 12 and Saturday, January 13, 2018 at the ZAOGA Forward In Faith bible college, Africa Multi-Nation for Christ Colleges (AMFCC) on Amalinda Road, Glen Norah, Harare.
“These are special home-going celebration services to celebrate a life well lived, and the many lives that he transformed through the preaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ worldwide, which was followed by signs and wonders,” he said. Rev Nyambo said a church service will be held in Ezekiel Jnr’s honour before the burial service.
“The night vigils will be followed up by a special church service in his honour on Sunday, January 14, 2018 starting at 8am at AMFCC. The burial ceremony will take place at Glen Forest Memorial Park at 2pm on the same day.”
Ezekiel Jnr who wrote the book “The Man Who Defied Condition”, where he revealed his experiences on how he defied his physical disability and speech impediment, leaves behind his wife Caroline and three children. www.herald.co.zw
