The President of the NCC led a delegation to Bamenda on Tuesday to see the sanction put effectively enforce the decision and suspend the program which runs on weekdays from 4-5pm on Radio Hot Cocoa.Peter Tebid Chi popularly called Mac Chi begins his three-month suspension for violating the etics of the profession, according to the NCC.
This decision has not gone down well with journalists and fans of English-speaking extraction in the North West region who believe the Anglophone press is a cheap target for the NCC.

Outrage In Bamenda After Suspension Of Pidgin Newscaster |
“Peter Essoka(President of the NCC) should also enforce his decision to ban Ernet Obama (Vision 4 presenter) to show they have the powers,” a journalist in Bamenda said.
Is the NCC only for a category of media organs? I ask so because when Radio Hot cocoa was shut down and an animator suspended. The place was sealed and the animator obeyed the order. But how come on 31 Dec 2017, four government ministers will be on the set of a journalist suspended by the watchdog?,” another journalist asked.
In January 2017, the Senior Divisional Officer for Mezam Songa Pierre Rene sealed the doors of Radio Hot Cocoa in the heat of the Anglophone crisis due to the critical nature of its breakfast program.
The radio was later reopened by the NCC but the presenter sacked and the program has been suspended indefintely since then. www.journalducameroun.com
