Cameroon - Jacques Fame Ndongo: "If Paul Biya Was Angry, He Would Have Asked To Remove All The Computers - Because It Is His Gift! "

In a weekly broadcast devoted to political parties on the CRTV Télé television station, Jacques Fame Ndongo, the minister of higher education and senior executive of the ruling CPDM, responded to criticisms over the management he made the donation of 500 000 listeners offered to students by the President of the Republic.

"Espaces politiques" is a state television program reserved for political parties represented in the National Assembly. In the edition of Thursday, January 18, 2018, the CPDM, majority party, had as guest, Jacques Fame Ndongo in dual quality of Minister of Higher Education and Secretary of Communication to the Central Committee of the Democratic Rally of the Cameroonian people.

For the past two months, Jacques Fame Ndongo has been the target of harsh criticism about his management of the 500,000 audience donation offered to students by the President of the Republic. The latest news is that computers, judged by poor public opinion and excessively expensive, have led Paul Biya, the donor, to be angry at his minister.

Asked about the veracity of these indiscretions by Simon Meyanga, the communicator and presenter of the tranche reserved for the RDPC, Jacques Fame Ndongo denied in his own way
Cameroon - Jacques Fame Ndongo: "If Paul Biya Was Angry, He Would Have Asked To Remove All The Computers - Because It Is His Gift! "

"But if he was angry, he would have asked to remove all the computers. Since it's his gift! If, for example, your dad tells you: here is a porcupine, go give it to my cousin who is in such a village. If you train for one or two weeks and then, the porcupine is giddy. Obviously, your dad's cousin will not say thank you to his cousin, he will say: you sent me a meat! But, the fact that students say thank you to the head of state; the fact that the students are happy, are satisfied. The fact that those who have not yet received the computer wait with immeasurable impatience, indeed proves that the operation is well conducted, "said the Minister of Higher Education.

The latter is also accused by members of some civil society organizations, for diverting some of the funds for the manufacture of computers. On the basis of these suspicions, the SDF, political party leader of the opposition, asked the President of the Republic, "the opening of an independent investigation on the purchase and distribution of computers to students by the Minister of Higher Education »

Reacting to these suspicions, Minister Jacques Fame Ndongo explained to fellow journalist Simon Meyanga, that the procedure of paying bills for the manufacture of computers gave no opportunity for embezzlement.

"I recall that the President of the Republic did not give sacks and bags of billions to the Minister of Higher Education to buy computers in China. These computers are made in China by Chinese funds unlocked by Eximbank China and manufactured by a Chinese state enterprise. So with that, let's reason a little absurd: what would the President of the Republic blame the Minister of Higher Education who is waiting for the product returned to Yaoundé to proceed to its distribution? "Interroge Jacques Fame Ndongo before speaking also on the controversy aroused by the contemptuous attitude of the President of the Republic towards him on Thursday, January 4 at the ceremony of presentation of vows at the Palace of Unity.
"With that, they tried to read a wish picture, but I would never say what the smiling president blew me. And of course, I could not extend this conversation quickly. I did it, and people interpreted that the President of the Republic extended his hand to my neighbor, my friend and colleague who was coming after me, that it was a way of saying that he did not want me. see. So, if he did not want to see me, the President of the Republic is not afraid of me, I am only a modest collaborator. He can say? I stop this operation, I entrust it to someone else. For the moment, I do not know that this is the case. But, do we ever know? The future can hold us surprises, maybe it can stop the operation. But, for the moment, the operation continues in a very beautiful way. The students enlist with a lot of enthusiasm and things are going very well. I know a lot of people have gloated on this, but the best test is the attitude of students, "concluded the one who considers himself a creature of Paul Biya, Head of State for 36 years. CIN
