The presidential couple responds to an invitation from Emmanuel Macron, the French president who organizes tomorrow Tuesday 12 December 2017 in Paris, a climate summit called “one Planet Summit”.
It will also be an opportunity for leaders and other personalities of the invited world, to assess the level of progress of the countries ‘ commitments in the fight against climate change after the “COP21” held two years back still in the French capital.
It is the second time in the space of two years that the Cameroonian President is participating in these meetings to fight climate change. “The participation of President Paul BIYA in the COP21 reflects Cameroon’s constant commitment to the fight against climate change …” President Paul BIYA has always pleaded for a general and urgent mobilization of all and everyone in the face of the adverse consequences of global warming.
It is indeed convinced that the overall nature of climate change requires such global solutions … Cameroon is committed to reducing its greenhouse gas emissions by 32% by 2035.
“For the head of state, the fight against climate change must be compatible with the requirements of the development of the countries of the South” explains an article published on the website of the Presidency of the Republic of Cameroon. www.cameroondailyjournal.com
