President Biya Convenes The High Council of Judiciary Of Cameroon

The Head of State has convene the high Council of the Magistracy on 7 June 2017 at 10 am at the Unity Palace in Yaoundé

The President of the Republic Friday May 12, 2017, from his village Mvomeka’a signed several decrees, Among which is the one in which Mr Paul Biya convenes a meeting of the High Council of the Judiciary.

As a tradition, the subjects on the agenda have not been disdisclosed.But an unimpeachabl source informes that Akame Foumane, legal adviser to the presidency of the Republic was recently in Mvomeka’a,the village of Mr Biya in the south region where he presented the files to be discussed to the Head of State.

As tradition Higher Council of the Judiciary is to decide on the various assignments of magistrates, their promotion, possible cases of indiscipline, besides others.

The meeting of June 7, 2017 comes at a time when courts in the English-speaking regions of Cameroon have remained closed for more than seven months following strike by the common law lawyers .
