After a period of 34 years of massive corruption and embezzlement of government public funds under the Biya regime, the only landmark infrastructural project that Biya could show for it is taking a worrying turn.
From the many strikes that often make the news of this so-called structuring project, The Chinese bank Eximbank has suspended funding for the project .According to a reports, the funder accuses the Cameroon government officials of "having unilaterally modified the characteristics of the road".
Instead of Cameroon officials working to facilitate the construction, they have been busy modifying the route to go through places that will benefit certain people with compensation. Compensation estimated at 1.5 billion FCFA for the populations has been reportedly settled on the first 10 km of the project in view of the modifications made to the original project by the Cameroonian side.
The corruption levels of La Republique is one of the highest in the world. We need to take bad our country and stop the funding of this corrupt regime by our resources. We can do better!
