Ayah Paul Writes To Southern Cameroonians From Jail

Dear Universal Children of the Most High, ALL OUT WAR AGAINST THE AYAH FAMILY:

You are already aware that Ayah Paul Abine, Deputy Attorney General of the Supreme court and National President of the Popular Action Party (PAP) has been in captivity for upwards of a hundred days, having been abducted by government secret agents on January 21, 2017. You are in the know that, for that long, the government has conspired to concoct evidence against Ayah in hopeless futility.

You have also been fully appraised of the attack on Ayah's immediate family at Yaounde on the night of April 21, 2017. To impress on you that the government of Cameroon is after the entire Ayah Family, we propose to recount a few occurrences touching on Ayah's family at Akwaya. It is an open secret that government security agents burnt down the administrative building at Government High School, Akwaya. Actually, a good 'Samaritan' represented to the Presidency of the Republic on February 7, 2017 that Ayah is a man of peace, a moderate, for two reasons. First, that no school in Akwaya sub division was on strike all of the first term and that there were up to then no social upheaval at Akwaya.

Within days, there was arson at the high school and in betrayal of the official machinations, the so called eldest member of the National Assembly, a certain Hon Enow Tanjong, in his opening address, deplored ''the burning down of the administrative block of Government High School'' at Ayah's native Akwaya. This clearly was a desperate endeavour to paint Ayah black. But how else can one explain it? The Hon eldest member lives in Buea - a stone's throw from Mutengene where two classrooms were burnt down and a short distance from Limbe where two classrooms where extensively burnt down. How more important was an administrative block in distant akwaya: some 500 kilomotres from Buea? How easier to get information from remote inaccessible Akwaya than Mutengene and Limbe? So wholly pitiable!

To entangle Ayah by all means, a death squad was dispatched to Akwaya. Ayah'a family was identified and his cousin, Timbu, was shot on February 13, 2017, from behind at close range. Convinced he had been killed, the squad fled Akwaya immediately. The uprising the government had hoped to provoke has not taken place some two months since... Ayah is now over a hundred days in captivity. The government of Cameroon is still in the pursuit of a pretext to put him to death or wipe out his family. But one thing is sure: Ayah has a divine mission. That mission he must accomplish: with integrity, in all honesty, within the law and in unaffected truth!
