Head of State Paul Biya and his wife Chantal Biya returned to Yaoundé after three weeks abroad.

After disappearing from radars a week before leaving Italy, the successor of the late Amadou Ahidjo finally returned to Cameroon after an unprecedented ultimatum of members of the Cameroon Diaspora Democratic and Patriotic Group (Collectif des Organisations démocratiques et patriotiques de la Diaspora camerounaise – CODE) .

The same group that had in the past marked the news by major actions in Geneva has just delivered the film of the events that led to the relocation of Paul Biya from his sumptuous suite of the hotel Intercontinental to his castle, still in the same town.

On April 4, 2017, the CODE issued a 7-day ultimatum to President Paul Biya and gave him an injunction to leave Switzerland where he was on vacation, accompanied by a plethora of courtiers, who squandered public funds for expensive and unnecessary splendor, while Cameroonians languish under the weight of debt and misery.

Following this ultimatum, the CODE Operational Unit deployed to Geneva on 11 April, the day of the expiry of the injunction, with the mission and instructions to carry out a Punch action inside the Intercontinental, to confront Paul Biya.

On the evening of April 11th, our elements camped in advanced positions were able to see his precipitous departure from the Intercontinental Hotel, accompanied by a convoy, which drove him to his castle located on Route de Lausanne, on the banks of the Lake Geneva, where he spent the night. While our Operational Cell was preparing to take action in front of his castle, Paul Biya left the premises, heading for Geneva airport, from where he embarked to Cameroon.

Instructions have been given to our Head of the Operational Unit to lift the active device deployed in Geneva, and has all the elements to regain their respective base.

The CODE welcomes Paul Biya’s decision to abide to their injunction, which avoided a humiliating confrontation. His return to the country will enable him to save funds that could have been used for his personal pleasure.
