Professor James Abangma SYNES UB Chapter President recently signed a communique calling off the ongoing teachers’ strike.

The decision has left so many label him ‘traitor’ and saying he signed the communique under duress. Gerald Meh sees the decision from a different angle and says Prof. Abangma made the right decision. Read his take!

Prof. James Abangma made the right decision IN MY OPINION to ask UB students and lecturers to resume classes on Monday. Prof. Abangma is a fighter and he understands Cameroon’s political landscape more than most of us.

I applaud him for what he’s done. Prof is someone I know personally. In fact, he’s a close friend and a mentor. I understand his rationale, period. Let’s not forget he asked for the release of those in jail.

Is he a traitor regarding the Anglophone cause? Definitely not. I endorsed Abangma’s move. Does that mean am a traitor as well? Absolutely not.
