The governments internet blackout strategy in Southern Cameroon may have backfired. Many are feeling the pinch but adhering to reason.
They have showed the entire world how insensitive, unrealistic and naive they are and how devastating their policies towards millions of Cameroonians are.The government of Cameroon is fighting hard to convince the international community that, the atrocities being committed to innocent civilians is as a result of self defense.
However, with the internet blackout and US and EU nationals of Cameroon origin being barred from entering the presumed divided country from the Douala and Yaounde airports, even though they were issued genuine visas, tells a story of someone trying to lie and cover up their tracks from outside view.
The truth is, the more they deprive people of basic necessities, the more defiant people become-especially young people who are at the center of the disobedience going on in Southern Cameroon.
It maybe wise for the governments advisers to start paving the way for future negotiations because they are the only ones to carry out that responsibility-since they are in the business to advice the old fox to outlaw organizations and arrest their leaders for alleged petty crimes.
No matter what the government of Cameroon does, this decision to restrict internet access and partial phone services will come back to hunt them.In retrospect, it's a winning strategy for an upcoming powerful opposition party that could change the political landscape of the country in time to come...There's no better time to stand up for the truth and then allow the people of the country to make up their minds.
