What started like a verbal war between Prophet Bushiri and the ruling Democratic Progressive Party has now graduated into fully fledged armed battle following the attack of the Bushiri’s Enlightened Christians Gathering (ECG) crusade in Lilongwe on 10th June 2016.
According to impeccable sources, the thugs, strongly believed to be sent by DPP top gurus stormed the crusade armed to the teeth looking for Bushiri who was fortunately not present during the material day.
One of the members who were present at the crusade confided to Maravi Post that the thugs destroyed some properties at the ECG premises and injured some members before they left the place after noticing that the members were calling for private security.
“The thugs came to attack our Prophet Bushiri but they miscalculated their move because Bushiri was not present. They were angered and started destroying property of the church, injuring some members in the process,” said the member.

Efforts to get comment from the information minister Patricia Kaliati proved futile as her phone was out of reach.
Bushiri has been a victim of DPP propaganda machinery as the latter is of the view that the man of God is eyeing the hot seat come 2019 elections.
However, Bushiri has persistently denied harbouring such ambitions saying he is contented with the work of serving God.
