It's a cold winter night at this other dingy bar in the midst of raunchy dancer Beverly Sibanda’s performance this other Tuesday.
Clad in her tiny undies and bras, it’s evident she feels at home as she goes through her drills along with her waist-wriggling dancers.
Exuding confidence and showing lots of energy, she appears to be ‘high’ as she goes through her sexually suggestive drills.
Her long term manager – Harpers Mapimhidze – simply watches his ‘client’ cum madam boss on stage doing her thing.
At one point, he appears pissed off as Bev grabs the microphone hurling obscenities at fans and those poking fun at her.
One of her dancers tries to calm her down but to no avail.

Misfortune and Humiliation Trail Zim Celebs |
As expected, her manager Harpers intervenes but the damage has already been done.
“Nhasi tinopedzerana, kakuendereraka kaBev kenyu,” a seething victim of Bev’s attack charges towards her but can’t get hold of her as she flees to her getaway car.
“This is not the first time she has done this; she likes fights and controversy whenever she sees press guys. I think, you are giving her too much comfort,” adds the victim.
When Bev ‘flees’, Harpers is at pains trying to calm down one of the victims while a potential promoter in the crowd is shocked by the ‘dirty’ dancer’s never ending antics.
Even management at the pub is at a loss for words but for us who know her, that’s Bev for you.
EGOS GONE BAD
Well, in today’s issue I will use the Bev fracas to address a number of issues hurting the entertainment industry.
Some of these antics are a result of cheap publicity stunts while other celebs are simply hotheads who will never repent.
Some of these hotheads will never learn and it now appears controversy runs in their DNA.
The majority of them blame it on booze while the superstitious would always rush to suspect some evils sprits trailing them like shadows.
What is also sad is that the same people we always give the stick in the press for their wayward behaviour are the ones who are always caught off side.
The reigning mampara of the year Soul Jah Love and his deputy Bev have proved that it would take a miracle for them to repent.
We understand some members of the clergy have even tried their hand but it appears it didn’t work.
HANDLING FAME
This has always been a challenge with the majority of our celebs ranging from footie stars, musicians, actors/actress among other socialites being adored by members of the public.
My brother from Marondera – Mic Inity – is one typical chap who instantly comes into mind whenever this subject of handling fame is brought to the fore.
We all know his shenanigans at his peak at Red Fox where he commanded the greater Harare, albeit entertainment wise.
He only lost the plot when he failed to handle fame while his marital woes, bar brawls and recklessness compounded his fate.
Although he deserves another chance, it appears it would take ages for him to rediscover all that lost glory.
Without fear or favour, Mic Inity blew his chance but there is always hope at the end of the tunnel.
And Mic Inity is not alone in this predicament as we have fellow celebs in various disciplines who are now regretting for their shenanigans when they were still at the peak.
WAY FORWARD
Like I always say, professionalism is all what celebs need in their diet and the ability for one to live within their means.
Of course society might have its expectations but it is always key for one to remain humble or engage proper handlers who can handle their affairs in a professional manner.
Of course no-one is perfect but there are problems issues which can be avoided while it is too early to the blame game when all go off the rails.
MAMPARA OF THE WEEK
Last week, yours truly was away on vacation and it feels good being back in the trenches after that mini sabbatical.
While on vacation, a number of celebs – who are no longer strangers to controversy – were caught on the wrong side of the law and it appears some of them will never learn.
At first, it was my good buddy Harpers Mapimhidze, who made headlines for his ‘cannon’ moments’with former wife of fellow Dancers Association of Zimbabwe board member PaddingtonJapaJapa.
Joining the same list is reigning mampara of the year Soul Jah Love who grabbed headlines for allegedly pointing a gun to ‘dirty’ dancer Chocolate after she turned down his love proposal, it is alleged.
Then it was burley singer artiste First Farai’s ‘happy’ moments with Zoey Noleen Sifelani, which also made headlines.
Farai has since apologised to his wife and hopefully there won’t be a recurrence Prince of Sungura.
On Monday, flamboyant rapper Desmond ‘Stunner’ Chideme was back in the news after he crashed his maroon Lexus V8 into four parked cars in the capital, reportedly showing off and rolling in his new wheels.
From this list, it was indeed difficult coming up with the eventual winner as the contest for the crown of shame was stiff.
If I were a grade teacher during first term I would safely declare all of them to have taken the first position.
But since we are dealing with adults, we had to come up with the winner.
And it appears this week we will have a tie between Stunner and Soul Jah Love for the crown of shame.
It’s tie to say the least!
I rest my case here. Till we meet again next week, Happy reading!!!
