The former principal of a top Durban high school appeared in court on Friday morning on charges of stealing school funds.
Trevor Kershaw‚ who earlier this year retired as principal of Glenwood High School‚ appeared in the Durban Commercial Crimes Court on charges of fraud. It is alleged that‚ between 2007 and last year‚ he took about R5-million.
He was granted R100 000 bail. As part of his bail conditions‚ Kershaw has to report to Westville police station twice a week and cannot leave the. He will next appear in court on June 21.

Young said in a statement issued in February that Kershaw had announced his intention to resign from the post in November last year. The reasons given were that he was considering overseas job offers.
KwaZulu-Natal Hawks spokesman Lieutenant Simphiwe Mhlongo said he could not reveal who reported the case.
While he would not provide details‚ Mhlongo said documentary evidence was collected as part of the investigation‚ who said a full statement was being prepared by lawyers.
