A man's hope of marrying his girlfriend crashed after she turned down his marriage proposal because the diamond on the engagement ring was too small.
Photos showed the man get down on one knee in front of the dancers he had hired to perform for is girlfriend during the proposal.
The woman who looked happy at first, shed tears of joy as the performance began on the street in Chengdu, the capital city of south-west China's Sichuan province.
But as he opened the box for her to see, she was less than impressed by the ring she saw. The woman then turned around and walked away.

It was gathered that a screenshot of a leaked WeChat conversation between her and a friend was later leaked online and published afterwards.
"But he agreed to buy me a diamond ring as large as one carat.
"Why was this one so small?
"Is he so careless or has he ever cared about me?" the woman said in the leaked chat.
"Don't worry.
"Perhaps the bigger one will be waiting for you later or he hasn't prepared it for this time, " her friend replied.
