Gruesome End! Man Sliced To Death By A Grinder

Chitungwiza residents are still in shock after a freak accident when a man was sliced to death by a grinder he was using and died instantly.

The man only identified as Wellington was working for tombstone and polishing contactor when the horrific incident occurred on Friday 19 February, around 3:00pm.

According to witnesses, “the man was cutting through granite stone with a grinder when he knelt down to pick something leaving the power tool unattended. Instantly, the grinder slid from the slippery stone and cut deep into his throat.”

The man leapt into air before he landed on the ground. The deep cut caused a lot of bleeding, leading to his death in few minutes.”

Stunned residents streamed to the premises near Zengeza High 1 School to witness the rare accident. Many were still confused at the sight of a dead body. Police came later to ferry the body to the mortuary.

“We are still shocked. This has never happened before in this area. It is a sad episode for human life to be lost this way,” said a vegetable vendor, Mr Mutasa.

Reports say personnel at the tombstone workshop are overworked, with some working until early morning. His family and workmates wept uncontrollably at the scene.
