Despite calls from human rights activists, Nicki Minaj performed in Angola at a holiday concert hosted by Unitel, a company controlled by the country’s dictator, José Eduardo dos Santos.
According to reports, she received $2 million for the performance. “The payment you are receiving from your Angolan sponsors is the result of government corruption and human-rights violations,” Thor Halvorssen, president of the Human Rights Foundation (the group calling for Minaj to cancel the concert), wrote in a letter to Minaj last week.
Minaj never addressed or responded to the open letter. Following her concert, she shared this photo on Instagram:
It sounds like Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton might be a real couple—the real celebrity couple of your nightmares—either that or they’re making their poor parents engage in the charade. According to reports, Stefani and Shelton have now met each other’s parents. I’m not certain why, but meeting Blake Shelton’s parents in Oklahoma sounds like the stuff of nightmares. [Just Jared]
