Charlie Sheen's interview at the "Today" show last Tuesday has resulted to his exes coming out and claiming that they are HIV-negative.
Yahoo! News reported that the "Anger Management" actor revealed that he had HIV. "I'm here to admit that I am HIV-positive," he said.
Apparently, Charlie Sheen's interview was prompted by the National Enquirer's report on Monday that the actor had contracted the virus. The tabloid also stated that he had risked the health of several sexual partners.
"Enough that I trusted to be in the position and the situation I am today," Sheen answered when asked about how many people he told about his disease.
Furthermore, Charlie Sheen's interview revealed that he was blackmailed by several people and had to pay millions for their silence. "What people forget is that's money they're taking from my children," he added.
The 50-year-old actor admitted that he learned that he was HIV-positive four years ago. However, he also confessed that he had no idea on how he contracted the virus.
Mail Online reported that Nurse Amanda Bruce, Charlie Sheen's ex-girlfriend, admitted to having unprotected sex with the actor during their eight months together. She took PrEP to lower her risk of contracting the virus but was advised against unprotected sex with Sheen.
The two have split up but remain good friends. Bruce confirmed that she is HIV-negative.
Meanwhile, days before Charlie Sheen's interview last Monday, another one of the actor's ex-girlfriends revealed that she does not have the disease. According to PerezHilton.com, Bree Olson explained on her website that she is HIV-negative.
"I, myself have been to my gynecologist at least once a year since we split up and have always been tested across the board for everything and have came back clean across the board every time," she clarified.
Charlie Sheen's ex-wife, Denise Richards, purportedly knew about the diagnosis "for years" according to a report by Independent.ie. The actor was said to have been infected after their divorce. She and her daughters, Sam, 11, and Lola, 9, are HIV-negative.
