Cops accused of being serial abusers.

SIBONGILE Mahlangu claims she has on two occasions survived attacks by the men and women who were supposed to protect her.

The 41-year-old from Putfontein in Daveyton, Ekurhuleni told Daily Sun the first time she was assaulted by cops was back in 2003. According to her, police officers attacked her and tried to rape her.

She said when she went to the police station to report the incident, someone who had been stabbed came in at the same time and cops assumed she was responsible. They allegedly put her in a holding cell and beat her.

Sibongile said she opened an assault and attempted rape case but 12 years later, nothing has happened.

Last Wednesday, Sibongile had another run-in with cops after fighting with a neighbour. She claimed her neighbour’s kid started beating her, and the kid’s dad then moered the kid with a steel rod.

The cops who arrived were the same ones Sibongile claims assaulted her back in 2003. She said they once again assaulted her before arresting her again!

Sibongile said the two cops threatened her when she tried to lay a charge.

Gauteng police spokesman Captain Tsekiso Mofokeng advised Sibongile to see the commander of the station the cops work at.

“Internal processes will be instituted against the members,” he said.

Mofokeng said he tried to confirm the 2003 attempted rape and assault cases but was still waiting for feedback.
