CAPS United coach Mark Harrison said that they have to improve on their precision if they are entertaining any hopes of getting maximum points against Chapungu at the National Sports Stadium on Sunday.
Harrison is worried by the glut of chances the Green Machine have missed in the last two matches which ended in draws against ZPC Kariba and Buffaloes.
CAPS will be without forward Roderick Mutuma who has went AWOL at training and there are doubts over Leonard Tsipa who is recovering from an injury.
“We are looking forward to the game on Sunday. We thought that the game was going to be a week away but it has been brought forward.
“I think Chapungu are on a good run and I do not think that they have lost in five or six games now, so there are in form.
“They are going to be tough nut to crack, I am sure,” said Harrison.
Chapungu beat CAPS United 3-0 Gweru before losing the reverse fixture 1-0 in Harare last year.
“They play a physical came and they are pretty direct. So we know what we are up against and we just have to come up with a game plan to beat them.
“We have to start capitalising on chances that we are creating. In the last four games, we have created too many chances that we have failed to take advantage of.
“I am very disappointed in that we have dropped points in the last two games, especially with the chances we have created and we are creating goal chances and not half chances.
“That is disappointing and we should have a lot more goals on the board by now,” said Harrison.
Harrison said he had been trying to plug the loopholes in his attack at the training session during the week.
“We have been working hard and hopefully this weekend it might come to fruition and we need it,” he said.
The coach feels that his camp is a bit more focused on the game after receiving assurance from their executive that
CAPS United will be going into battle without the services of regular wingbacks Hardlife Zvirekwi and Ronald Pfumbidzai.
Team skipper Zvirekwi is away with the national team at the Cosafa Senior Challenge in South Africa while leftback Pfumbidzayi is attending trails in Denmark.
Dominic Mukandi will be used leftback while Valentine Musarurwa will cover for Zvirekwi.
“Zwirekwi is a team captain and brings a lot to the team. We are going to miss him big time but then on the other side of it opens the door for young Valentine to come and try to establish himself.
“He is only 19 years old and he has played a couple of games but this half a chance to establish himself we also miss Ronny because is the a natural leftback,” he said.
Despite the problems on their salaries and his rentals, Harrison feels that his players should give their best always.
‘There is no point in trying to hide the situation at the club. We cannot sugar-coat things and it is what it is but we have to get along with it.
“We have our days and our moments. We still have a job to do and have to do it to the best of our abilities,” he said. Sports Zone.
