Economic Freedom Fighters leader Julius Malema says journalists are not invited to his wedding this weekend.
According to the Sowetan, Julius Malema said during an interview on Radio 702 that he would wed this weekend
“I will be getting married in a private function and no journalist is invited and those who are not invited will not be welcomed,” Malema said.
Malema is marrying an accountant, Mantwa Matlala, who comes from his home town Seshego in Limpopo
"Respect the family I am marrying into because they are not public figures and they want to remain like that," said Malema.
Malema reportedly said that, even though he is a public figure and people have voted for him, he still deserves the right to privacy.
“The ceremony will be private and those who don’t have invitations aren’t welcome. People mustn’t complain when they are turned away because they just rocked up without an invitation,” Malema told Eyewitness News.
Malema has emphasised that there will be tight security
“I’m marrying into a private family and I’m asking people to respect that.”
Asked about what he wants for Christmas, the EFF commander in chief said that he has received everything he ever wanted; from his marriage to the achievements of the EFF.
Malema will say 'I do' on 27 December in his hometown.
