The cheating married Baptist Church Reverend who hogged the limelight for allegedly bedding a married woman in the mission compound faces a US$10 000 lawsuit for adultery damages.
Dennis Dhlula, a Reverend with Sanyati Baptist Church was reportedly bedding Betty Chiwereza -wife to Moses Chiwereza who is a headmaster at a local primary school. When they appeared before Chief Wozheri, Dhlula who is also a Principal of Baptist Seminary College in Gweru refused to pay a goat and a heifer to Chief Wozheri after he was found guilty of cheating with a married woman.
According to H-Metro,Betty is a nurse aide at Sanyati Baptist Mission Hospital. After discovering that he would not win the case before the courts of law, Dhludla dropped the charges against Chief Wozheri and requested an out of court settlement with Chiwereza through his lawyers.
A copy littered with legal verbiage from Chiwereza’s lawyers to Dhlula states that,” We have been instructed to demand as we hereby do that you pay a total sum of US$10 000 adultery damages to compensate our client for the injury or contumelia inflicted upon him by yourself and also for the loss of consortium our client suffered by reason of the withdrawal of the comfort,society,love,companionship and the assistance his spouse was providing.
“For the avoidance of doubt
a) US $5000 damages for contumelia
b) US $5000 damages for loss of consortium
The money has to be paid at our offices within 7 days from the date of this letter failing which we shall proceed with civil action without further notice,” reads part of the letter dated July 18, 2014.
Dhlula and Betty’s illicit came to light after Chiwereza “bumped”into nude photographs of the two hidden in Bev’s clothes sometime in 2012.
Chiwereza, a headmaster at Chiguvare Primary school took his case before chief Wozheri who fined Dhlula a heifer and a goat. In an interview with reporter Arron Nyamayaro in 2012, Dhlula confirmed taking Chief Wozheri o Kadoma court over his ruling on the case.
Contacted for comment Dhlula said the case was closed and that he could not divulge the outcome. ” I am still to receive the ruling in writing from my Lawyer after the case was closed,” said Dhlula. ” I can not give you my position over the phone since the case was closed,” he added.
