The annual tournament will this year be hosted by Botswana from 13-28 September and Zimbabwe have managed to beat the 25 April registration deadline.
Cosafa chief operating officer Sue Destombes said Zimbabwe’s confirmed their participation together with six other countries.
“Many of our general secretaries from the various Cosafa countries were in South Africa at the Fifa seminar that was held recently and so have not been in their own offices to deal with such issues,” Destombes said.
Namibia, South Africa, Malawi, Seychelles, Lesotho and Swaziland are other countries who have confirmed.
Zimbabwe would be gunning for a fourth Cosafa title and last year lost to Zambia in the final.
Cosafa are also courting a country outside the Southern Region to take part in the tournament as guest participants. SuperSport.com
